Veteran actor Mawuli Semevo dies at 63

Veteran actor Mawuli Semevo sadly passed away at the Ridge Hospital in Accra on February 20, 2025. He died at the age of 63. The actor was receiving treatment for severe burns sustained in a fire accident that occurred in his home on Friday, February 7, 2025.
According to sources, Mawuli Semevo’s house caught fire while he was asleep. He suffered burns affecting 44% of his body and leading to a respiratory injury.

He was admitted to Ridge Hospital later where he was reported to be a in critical condition. A non-profit organization dedicated to providing advocacy and support for burns survivors, Beyond Burns International launched a fundraising campaign to support his medical expenses led by its Executive Director Judith Cato Addison. Mawuli Semevo died on Thursday, February 20, 2025 while still receiving treatment at the hospital.

Colleague actors and fans alike have expressed their condolences and mourned the loss of the beloved actor. Mawuli Semevo will be remembered for his exceptional acting skills, both on stage and in movies.
