U-20 AFCON: Black Satellites secure victory over Senegal

The Black Satellites on Monday night secured a 1-0 victory over defending champions, Senegal to progress to the next round.
Head Coach Desmond has attributed the win to tactical instructions heeded by the players on the field.
He said, “It was a very difficult game, no doubt about that but tactically, I believe we got it right,”
He added, “Senegal came at us with a very direct and physical approach. It wasn’t easy, but our players showed great tactical discipline and fighting spirit throughout the game.”
“The boys followed the game plan, stayed organized, and gave everything on the pitch. That’s all you can ask for as a coach.”
With four points, the Ghanaian team is at a joint-level at the top of Group C ahead of their final game with Central African Republic on May 8.
“Our main goal is to qualify for the World Cup, that’s the focus.
“Each match and positive result take us a step closer,” Ofei added.
Ghana last appearance at the U-20 World Cup was in 2015 in New Zealand.
