Speaking on the initiative in an interview, Ayariga highlighted that the programme aims to transcend political affiliations and focus on addressing poverty across the nation.
He said, “The programme is going to be as fair as possible to every Ghanaian because poverty has no political colour, poverty has no age bracket. Once you are poor, you are poor. You can be NPP and be poor, you can be NDC and be poor.”
He added that “We are looking at youth who are ready to work, who are ready to acquire a skill, who are willing to make ends meet.”
Globally, apprenticeship programs have proven to be effective in reducing unemployment and equipping young people with practical skills.
