NDC announces guidelines for the Tamale central by-election primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released a statement outlining the guidelines for its upcoming parliamentary primaries ahead of the Tamale Central Constituency by-election in the Northern region.
Signed by the General Secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the statement outlined the processes that aspirants must follow to participate in the primaries.
The Tamale Central Constituency by-election comes as a result of the recent tragic helicopter crash that killed the constituency’s parliamentary representative, Murtala Mohammed on August 6.
The statement noted that nomination forms will be made available at the party’s Northern Regional Office, and completed documented document must be submitted there as well.
After a rigorous vetting process, a certified copy of the delegates will be available for all aspirants.
A filing fee of GH¢40,000 is to be paid by the aspirants into the party’s official bank account at UMB Bank, Adabraka Branch and a non-refundable fee of GH¢5,000 for the nomination.
Female aspirants and individuals with disabilities are however, entitled to 50 percent reduction on the approved filing fee.
The statement also stated that all payments must be made directly into the stated account as cheques and bankers’ drafts will not be accepted.
Attached to the statement is an official timetable of the primaries for the aspirant’s perusal.
The NCD has urged the aspirants to adhere to the timetable and ensure there is decorum during the period.
