Streetlights fixed in part of Accra – Greater Accra Regional Minister

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo has pronounced the restoration of approximately 126 street lights across the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.
This conforms to an earlier promise to ensure the complete functioning of at least 70 percent of street lamps in the region within 50 days of presuming office, a move she explains aligns with the dedication of the government to improving visibility and security across the country’s capital.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, March 25 during an assessment tour, the regional minister announced plans to restore the remaining non-functioning streetlights.
Some areas she enumerated to have benefited from the initiative include the George Walker Bush Highway, ACP to Pokuase, Independence Avenue (Jubilee House) and the New Town junction to Ashaiman road.
In a statement the minister said that, March 25, marks exactly her 50 days in office and she is pleased to report that significant progress has been made and in all, about 126 streetlights have been worked on, including some highways, town roads, and community roads across the 29 MMDAs in the region.
She further mentioned that the Tema Motorway and the Accra-Tema Beach Road, which is of very much concern to the general public, could not be lightened because of the ongoing construction works. However the Accra regional minister assured the people that, they will be fixed upon completion of the road works.
