Ghana’s President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, is embarking on a three-day state visit to Singapore, aimed at deepening bilateral relations and fostering greater cooperation between Ghana and Singapore.
The intention behind this visit includes expanding trade and investment ties and advancing partnerships in education, science and innovation, urban development, agribusiness, and the digital economy.
President Mahama is scheduled to hold talks with the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The discussions will focus primarily on strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The President will also deliver the keynote address at the 8th Africa–Singapore Business Forum. He is further scheduled to headline a Ghana-focused Investment and Business Forum, designed to bring together leaders from government and the private sector to explore new business opportunities.
Speaking to the media on his arrival, President Mahama said Ghana and Singapore share a forward-looking outlook built on innovation, skills, and enterprise. He expressed confidence that the visit would turn those shared values into practical partnerships. According to him, the goal is to attract Singaporean investment and expertise into Ghana while opening new pathways for Ghanaian businesses to access Southeast Asian markets.
The President is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Advisor and Special Aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari; and the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.
Also travelling with the President are Minister of State and Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu; the Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Simon Madjie; and the Chief Executive of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Francis Kwarteng Arthur.
The three-day visit is expected to cement Ghana’s ties with Singapore while opening fresh opportunities for collaboration in key sectors of the economy.
