President Mahama to deliver first SONA

President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver his first State of the Nation address today, Thursday, February 27, after his assumption of office in January.
The much-awaited address by the president who is now serving his second term in office is expected to lay foundation for the new administration. With its ambition of “Resetting Ghana” agenda, Ghanaians are hopeful that issues like reviving the economy, creating jobs, and restoring stability are addressed given the current state of economic distress.
President Mahama’s address is expected to reassure citizens and outline clear solutions.
The key 24-hour economy policy is particularly expected to be the focus of the address with its game-changing initiative to boost industrial growth, productivity and the promising job creation opportunities that comes with its implementation.

Already, major stakeholders including Trades Union Congress, civil society groups and business leaders have made demands to the government which they expect will be taken into consideration.
Mahama’s agenda of resetting Ghana focuses on economic transformation, governance reforms, and social development.
As the president takes the podium in parliament to give the SONA, citizens, oppositions and analyst are keenly watching to assess his proposals, possibly sparking debates.
