MoH postpones Nursing & Midwifery licensing exams to September 4

The Central Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations has been postponed to September 4, 2025, by the Ministry of Health.
This decision stems from a meeting with the Health Minister, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), as well as the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI).
The parties agreed that, going forward, the exams will be taken by the candidates in their various institutions as done in the past.
The Ministry explained that the new directive is aimed at reducing any risk that may arise from the long-distance traveling of numerous candidates and ensuring effective supervision by the NMC.
Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, was of the view that students traveling from one region to another to write exams is improper and stated that the new move is a measure to ensure candidates’ well-being and safety.
He further assured the institutions that his Ministry will provide all necessary logistics needed for smooth implementation.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council in the coming days will release a revised timetable and guidelines for the exams.
