National Security arrests 3 senior officials of McDan group at gunpoint

National Security operatives have allegedly detained three top executives of the McDan Group following the demolition of an under-construction warehouse situated along the Spintex Road in Accra.
Sources have confirmed that the individuals were taken into custody shortly after the incident occurred at the site, which has since been declared a “National Security Zone” by uniformed personnel deployed there.
The warehouse, which was only partially completed at the time, is believed to have ties to well-known businessman Daniel McKorley, also known as McDan. However, the exact reasons behind the demolition remain uncertain.
Tensions heightened on Wednesday when armed military personnel were seen physically assaulting a bystander who was in the middle of an interview with a JoyNews reporter.
It has also emerged that JoyNews journalist Carlos Calony was picked up by National Security operatives while reporting from the scene after the demolition. The reasons for his arrest have yet to be made public.
The McDan Group is expected to release an official statement addressing the issue in the coming days.
