Nana Agradaa Seeks Bail After 15-Year Sentence, Files Appeal Against Conviction

Nana Agradaa Files for Bail Pending Appeal Against 15-Year Jail Sentence
Convicted former evangelist and self-styled spiritualist, Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has filed for bail pending the outcome of her appeal against a 15-year prison sentence handed to her for defrauding Ghanaians with a fake money-doubling scheme.
The controversial figure was sentenced by the Circuit Court in Accra after being found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretenses, charges related to her infamous “sika gari” ritual claims, which lured unsuspecting victims into parting with large sums of money.
Agradaa’s legal team has now requested bail on the grounds that she intends to appeal the conviction and needs her liberty to prepare adequately for the legal process. Her lawyers argue that she poses no flight risk and will comply with all court directives if granted bail.
The move has generated mixed reactions, with some members of the public calling for her continued incarceration, while others insist she deserves a fair appeal process.
The court is yet to set a date to hear the bail application.
