MTN Ghana introduces SME Accelerator Programmes to boost digital transformation.

MTN Ghana has launched an ambitious year-long initiative, the SME Accelerator Programme, aimed at boosting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country through digital transformation and business support solutions.
The Head of SMEs at MTN Ghana, Mohammed Abubakari, said the program was designed to address key challenges facing SMEs, including digital lag, access to financing, and capacity development, during the launch of the program.
Mr. Abubakari said, “The SME Accelerator is a platform we’ve developed to transform Ghana’s small and medium enterprises by equipping them with the digital tools and skills they need to scale.”
E-Levy collapsed thousands of MoMo businesses
He mentioned that the organization identified major gaps last year with the help of research, especially in digitization, capacity building, and financial access. Therefore, this year its focus is to find solutions to these problems.
The packages include access to a range of tailored MTN business solutions such as “MTN MyBusiness,” “YellowBiz,” and the SME Mate platform, as well as unified communications and digital tools to improve efficiency and market reach.

He added that MTN teams across the country would support SMEs in accessing and using these resources. Mr. Abubakari further stated that the accelerator would span sectors including agriculture, services, manufacturing, and more. It is accessible to all MTN SME customers and is available nationwide.
He added, “The initiative is part of MTN’s broader commitment to empower Ghanaian businesses and help them thrive in an increasingly digital economy.”
SMEs can apply through MTN’s USSD codes or designated online portals. The program is expected to expand after the first year based on customer feedback and impact assessments.
