The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has announced the launch of the National Heritage Photo Competition 2025, a move aimed at exhibiting the rich cultural heritage of Ghana’s people through photography.
All individuals between the ages of 15 – 20 across the 16 regions of Ghana are eligible to take part in this competition.
The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, stated that the goal of the competition is to provide an avenue for young people to showcase their creativity and skills while promoting the rich culture and heritage of Ghana.
“We are not only promoting our rich cultural heritage, but providing opportunities for young Ghanaians to showcase their creativity,” she remarked.
Speaking on eligibility and requirements, she explained that entries for the competition can include photographs of cultural products and heritage sites. She mentioned, however, that participants must not be above 25 years.
This initiative is organized in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The National Heritage Photo Competition 2025 is also supported by a pool of organizations, which include: the Ghana Tourism Authority, National Folklore Board, National Commission for Culture, Bureau of Ghana Languages, National Theatre of Ghana, National Film Authority, and Ghana Tourism Development Authority.
