KNUST student found dead; University pledges Investigation
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has assured the and student body and community of interest of their protection as a result of the tragedy of Joana Deladem Yabani a 400 level Biological Sciences student.
According to the school, her expired body was found close to the KNUST Disability and Rehabilitation Centre at 5:00 a.m. on February 27, 2025, after the Security Services of the institution were prompted of the incident.

On verifying the death of the girl, the university responsively ravished the lifeless body to the University’s Health Services for further interrogations.
In a statement released on Thursday, February 27, the management of the institution sworn to get to the base of this incidence, expressing that an extensive probe is set in motion in collaboration with the University Health Services, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the KNUST Internal Security to ascertain the conditions fencing the unfortunate death.
The university has again formally informed the family of the decedent and has recommended the students to stay quiet, calm and deflect from airing unverified and untrue information but rather give prestige and the privacy of the bereaved family during this hard time.
The University’s Management further extended its deepest sympathy and condolences to the mourning household. They concluded that, “We will provide further updates as the investigation unfolds”.
