John Mahama appoints a 12-member BOG board
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has appointed a 12 – member governing board for the Central Bank following consultations with the Council of State in conformance with the Constitution and the Bank of Ghana Act.
This appointment was annunciated on Wednesday February 26, 2025. The governing body of the Bank consist of the Board of Directors as specified in the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612). The Board includes the Governor, who is also the Chairman, two Deputy Governors and ten Non-Executive Directors.

The newly selected board members consist of:
Dr. Johnson Pandit Kwesi Asiama – Governor (Chairman)
Dr. Zakari Mumuni – 1st Deputy Governor
Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Representative from the Ministry of Finance
Augustine Fritz Gockel – Economist
Nana Akua Ayivora – Accountant/Audit/Risk/Compliance
Emma Akua Bulley – Lawyer
Evelyn Naa Checher Kwatia – Finance Markets/Treasury
Dr Stephen Senyo Sapati – Finance/Audit
Beatrice Feehi Annangfio – Lawyer
Kizzita Mensah – Lawyer
Joseph W. Asamoah – Fintech
Isaac Adongo – Economist.
The Committee is expected to work together with their expertness and experience to ensure effective governance of the Nation’s Central Bank performances.
