Kofi Adams denies hiding Black Stars budget

Sports and Recreation minister, Kofi Adams has debunked claims that he is hiding the Black Stars’ budget for the month of March’s World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
This rumour sparked as a result of President John Mahama’s State of the Nation Address in February where he stated that the era of secrecy in government expenditure on national teams had ended. The president further charged the Sports Ministry to hold the FA accountable for the two World Cup qualifying matches.
Twenty-two (22) days after the qualifying matches and no public announcements has been made from the Ministry concerning the budget of the matches.
Speaking to Channel One News, Kofi Adams said, “You will know it when the time comes,”.
“I’m saying that I will make it public. Has the National Team ceased playing?
“We have the next assignment in September; we have matches that we’re going to play and we will surely make it public. It will be unfair to make a draft budget public, I’m not hiding it.”
The Black Stars will be facing Chad and Mali in September in the next round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana is currently topping Group I with 15 points, Comoros is second with 12 points.
