Hope College becomes the best-performing SHS for the 2024/25 WASSCE

Hope College has officially etched its name into Ghana’s academic hall of fame—emerging as the best-performing senior high school in the 2024/25 WASSCE.
According to WAEC’s released results, Hope College achieved a 100% pass rate in nine core and elective subjects, including business management, elective math, physics, and French.
Even more jaw-dropping? Four students—David Ankrah, Maxwell Ayeyi Boamah, Daniel Yayra Sengretsi, and Daniel Ebo Dadzie—each bagged a perfect 8A1s.

But the real mic drop came when David Nii Commey Ankrah, a past student of Hope College, Gomoa Fetteh, emerged as the Overall Best Candidate in the 2024 WASSCE, beating out over 2.4 million candidates across all five WASSCE countries—Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.
He received his trophy in Monrovia, Liberia, on March 18, 2025—handed over by the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.
David Nii Commey Ankrah didn’t just collect his trophy and smile for the cameras—he dropped a challenge.
In his valedictory speech, David urged students across West Africa to take their education seriously and sit for the 2025 WASSCE, calling it a gateway to opportunity and transformation. He emphasized that academic excellence isn’t reserved for the privileged or the prodigies—it’s about consistency, discipline, and belief in one’s potential.
David admonished candidates preparing for the 2025 WASSCE to strive for excellence and resist the urge to engage in acts of malpractice.
