Gyakie drops debut 17-track album ‘After Midnight’ featuring 6 artists

Ghanaian Afro-fusion singer-songwriter Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong, has officially released her debut studio album, After Midnight, on August 29, 2025.
Titled to reflect the hours during which much of it was conceived, After Midnight draws directly from Gyakie’s experience of creating under the quiet of night.
She revealed in an interview that “almost all the songs in the album were recorded after midnight. It is within those hours that I find my best inspiration to write.
The peace and quiet, the sounds from the birds, the serenity; everything about that time fuels my creativity.” This theme of twilight, introspection, and introspective energy shaped the visual concept for the project.
The album release was preceded by a stunning trailer directed by Alex Piper, a phenomenal director whose cinematic lens has worked with global icons like Rema and Travis Scott. The video captures Gyakie’s artistic journey – from her roots and early studio days to stepping fully into the spotlight.
