Pure 95.7 FM studio burnt to ashes after less than 7 months renovation

One Kumasi-based radio station, Pure FM (95.7 MHz), was completely destroyed by a fire on the night of July 23, 2025.
The studio of Kumasi-based Pure FM was engulfed in flames during a live broadcast, leaving behind nothing but charred walls and stunned broadcasters.
The blaze, suspected to be triggered by an electrical fault, has devastated the station’s operations and sparked fresh concerns about safety in Ghana’s media houses.

Eyewitnesses say the fire broke out suddenly and raged for over three hours before the Ghana National Fire Service managed to contain it.
The fire destroyed significant parts of the facility, including all the broadcasting equipment, while the building structure was saved.
Veteran broadcaster Kwame Adinkra, host of Pure FM’s morning show, shared his exhaustion and heartbreak on social media: “We’ve just spent over three intense hours battling the fire… Thankfully, we managed to save the building, but we lost all our studio equipment. We’ll be off air temporarily—but we shall rise again!”

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Due to the damage, Pure FM, a subsidiary of the Angel Broadcasting Network, has temporarily suspended all programming and gone off air, but the station vows to recover and resume broadcasting soon.
