Fans beat musician Black Sherif with water bottles for arriving late to perform

In a scene that felt more like a riot than a rave, Ghanaian music star Black Sherif was pelted with water sachets and bottles by furious fans after showing up late to a concert.
According to sources, Black Sherif reportedly received a GHS 300,000 booking fee and demanded an additional GHS 50,000 upon arrival, citing dissatisfaction with the provided stage design and props.
Black Sherif Reveals What Life Could’ve Been Without Music
Black Sherif was performing at the Takoradi Mall Event Center on June 21, 2025, when fans suddenly started throwing bottles of water at him for showing up nearly 10 hours late.
The show was billed to start at 7 PM. However, Black Sherif didn’t grace the stage until 5 AM the next morning, and by then, the crowd’s patience had evaporated. As he began his 30-minute set, fans unleashed their bottled rage, literally, drenching the “Kwaku the Traveller” hitmaker in a storm of sachets.
In a moment of surreal defiance, Black Sherif reportedly told the crowd, “Throw more, throw more… As you are throwing the bottles at me, do the same to the promoters.”
This isn’t Black Sherif’s first brush with fan fury. Just a week earlier, he was punched in the mouth by an overzealous fan during a performance at the University of Ghana.

The recent incident has sparked renewed discussions within Ghana’s entertainment industry regarding artist professionalism and promoter relations. The social media have been anything but silent since Black Sherif’s Takoradi debacle.
On X, a large chunk of users sided with the fans, calling the bottle barrage “well-deserved.” Comments like “10 hours late? Even Jesus didn’t keep Lazarus waiting that long,” and “GH¢300K for a 30-minute show? We should’ve thrown chairs.”
