EOCO seizes Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Urus linked to a U.S fraud case

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale.
The seizure, carried out at his Trassaco Valley residence, follows a request from U.S. authorities investigating Nana Kwabena Amuah, also known as Philip Osei Tutu, a Ghanaian-American convicted of financial fraud and currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the U.S.
According to EOCO, the luxury vehicle was purchased with funds tied to Amuah’s criminal operations. Shatta Wale voluntarily handed over the car after requesting the operation be kept low-key due to brand concerns.
The vehicle is expected to be repatriated to the U.S. under a Mutual Legal Assistance agreement to help recover over $4.7 million owed to victims.
Shatta Wale and a former National Signal Bureau official have been named persons of interest and may be invited for questioning. The musician has criticised EOCO’s use of armed officers but denied wrongdoing.
EOCO has urged the public to avoid speculation as investigations continue.
