Davido Adjudged Artiste of the Year at 2025 Headies Awards

The annual Headies Awards took place on Sunday, April 27 in Lagos, Nigeria acknowledging groundbreaking achievements and appreciating musicians for the art they put out and their effort in flying high the flag of Nigeria.

Davido stole the spotlight as he was crowned the overall Artiste of the Year, highlighting his dominance on music streaming platforms and the global music scene within the year under review.

The late Mohbad was also acknowledged with a posthumous award for Best Street-Hop Artiste for his 2023 single, “Ask About Me.”

This year’s Headies came with an unexpected announcement: the 18th edition of the prestigious awards would be held in December 2025 to make up for the absence of the ceremony in 2024.
