Singer Camidoh opens up on struggles behind new album ‘Trustn God’

Ghanaian singer and songwriter Raphael Kofi Attachie, known widely as Camidoh, is letting fans in on one of the most personal chapters of his life through his new album, Trustn God.
He reveals that this project was born between 2024 and 2025. He said this period was characterized and filled with emotional battles and soul-searching. In these incredibly hard times, music became his outlet, a channel through which he processed everything he was feeling at the time.
“I was in a deserted place with no light, but a small beam of light represented God’s presence with me throughout tough times,” he said.
Each track on the album carries a piece of that journey: the confusion, the grief, the slow process of rediscovery, all tied together by a deeper message about leaning into faith when life gets heavy.
As this album was so personal to the music star, he made an effort to be a great part of the creative visual direction of the album. One of the standout visuals is an underwater photoshoot. This concept, he says, mirrors being stuck in an unfamiliar territory but still finding calm in God’s presence.
The opening song, also called Trustn God, speaks directly to anyone who’s ever felt stuck or overwhelmed.
“I felt down and hopeless, unsure if there was a way out, but the light of God’s presence gave me hope,” he said.
More than just an album, Trustn God is Camidoh’s way of reaching out and offering honesty, healing, and a reminder that no one walks through darkness alone.
