Renowned Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr recently amassed a total of one billion views on YouTube, making her the first Nigerian songstress to achieve this feat. Previously holding this record was celebrated artist Yemi Alade.

Yemi Alade held this record with a total of 805 million views. With Ayra Starr surpassing 805 million views, she becomes Nigeria’s most viewed female musician on YouTube at only 23. This adds to the numerous achievements of Ayra Starr and highlights her efforts and excellence in the music industry.

She now rubs shoulders with the likes of heavyweights like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, CKay, Omay Lay, Kizz Daniel, Tekno, P-Square, just to mention a few, joining them as artists who have crossed the billion-view mark on YouTube.

Central to this milestone is her Grammy-nominated hit single ‘Rush,’ which single-handedly amassed over 450 million views. Rush still holds the record of Nigeria’s most-viewed music video by a female artist.
