Wa T.I Amass 2025 WASSCE student stabbed over phone video dispute

Stabbing incident in Wa
A final-year student of Wa T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) is reported to be in critical condition after he was stabbed during a confrontation on campus Tuesday night.
Eyewitnesses report that the incident followed a heated argument between two final-year students: Iddrisu Ibrahim, popularly known as Lincoln, and his friend Hafis, also known by the nickname Baayaawa.
Lincoln, a third-year Agricultural Science student from Bulenga, is said to have recorded a video of Hafis without his knowledge or consent.
Hafis, who is also a final year student studying General Arts and hails from Bawku, allegedly confronted Lincoln and ordered him to delete the video. When Lincoln allegedly refused, Hafis threatened to stab him. According to those who witnessed the exchange, Lincoln brushed off the threat and challenged him to carry it out.
The confrontation took a violent turn when Hafis allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the rib and abdomen.
Reports indicate that Hafis attempted to flee the scene after the attack. However, news of the incident spread quickly, prompting the mobilization of a group of students who appeared to want to retaliate.
Police arrived on the scene in time to bring some calm and order, preventing further violence. Hafis was arrested and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Despite his injuries, Lincoln managed to walk from the hostel area towards the school library before losing consciousness.
A female student who witnessed the incident recounted the moment: “When Lincoln came out, the knife was still in him. Some students pulled it out before rushing him to the hospital.”
He is currently receiving medical care at the Wa Regional Hospital, where doctors have described his condition as critical but stable.
Police say investigations are still ongoing. While school authorities are yet to release an official statement, security measures on campus have been stepped up to maintain order and ensure the safety of students.
