Amaarae Makes History at Coachella

Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter Amaarae has made Ghana proud by making history as the first Ghanaian to ever perform at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club on April 13, 2025, in Indio, California.

The talented artist known for her skillful fusion of various genres like RnB, Afrobeat, Soul, and Afrobeat represented Ghana in very grand style urging the audience of diverse backgrounds to loudly sing the Ghanaian songs.

Aside from performing her songs which the audience loved, Amaarae selflessly performed songs from other Ghanaian musicians including; Eazzy, La Meme Gang, and Asakaa Boys, just to mention a few.

This development was met with a lot of praise for the young artist. Fans and artists have commended Amaarae for uplifting the flag of Ghana on such a prestigious stage.

It is no surprise that Amaarae’s achievement received so much positive feedback. Ghanaian musicians and African musicians in general for a long time have been striving to gain global recognition so for one of ours to get on that stage and mention “Ghana,” it is a big deal and has been celebrated as it should.

Amaarae is scheduled to perform again in the second week on the 20th of April 2025. She has also hinted at the release of her “Black Star” album during the summer.
