61st Oguaa Fetu Afahye climaxed with a colorful durber in Cape Coast

The Chiefs and People of Oguaa have climaxed the 61st Fetu Afahye with a colorful procession and grand durbar in Cape Coast. The Omanhene of Oguaa, Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Atta II, used the opportunity to remind the people to renew their commitment to the traditional values that have sustained them throughout the century.
He urged them, especially the youth, to uphold respect for the elderly and for the environment and dedication to the collective progress of their communities while embracing the spirit of innovation, the power of technology and creativity.
To the people of Oguaa, the Fetu Afahye, is more than a festival, but also a living testament to the resilience, creativity and unwavering connections to the spiritual and cultural foundation laid by their forebears.
The theme for the celebration this year is “Innovate to Elevate” challenging the people to embrace the power of innovation as a tool for inclusive development.
The festival was graced with several diginataries including the King and Queen of Warri Kingdom in Nigeria, and goverment delegation Samuel Ofosu Ampofo representing the vice president Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang among others.
This year’s festival planning committee was chaired former EC Chairperson, Madam Charlotte Osei.
