Parliament to vet Mahama’s four final deputy minister nominees today

Deputy Minister Designates
Parliament’s Appointments Committee will begin vetting the last group of deputy ministerial nominees this morning, Friday, July 25, 2025.
These four nominees are President John Mahama’s final picks under Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution who are all sitting Members of Parliament.
They include;
- Dorcas Affo‑Toffey (MP for Jomoro) – Deputy Minister for Transport
- James Gyakye Quayson (MP for Assin North) – Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
- Mohammed Adam Sukparu (MP for Sissala West) – Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology & Innovation.
- Grace Ayensu‑Danquah (MP for Essikado‑Ketan) – Deputy Minister for Health.
Speaker Alban Bagbin formally referred these nominees to the Committee on July 17, calling this the final round of deputy ministerial appointments for the current administration.
Bagbin praised their track records, noting they bring experience, integrity, and a solid public service background to their roles. He also confirmed that all the nominees’ CVs and supporting documents have been provided to assist in the vetting process.
