ADASS student shot in the eye says she won’t return to school after gaining sight

Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang, the teenager who lost her sight after a tragic shooting incident at Adventist Senior High School is anxious about returning to school after her successful surgery.
On April 4th, Suzzy was accidentally shot by a classmate who had sneaked a locally manufactured pistol into the school. The BB round caused her to lose her sight, turning her life upside down.
After months of uncertainty, Suzzy traveled to the United Kingdom for a life-changing surgery to restore her vision. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, a respected Ghanaian businessman, Suzzy underwent a successful procedure and returned to Ghana on Thursday night.
In an emotional interview following her return, Suzzy revealed that despite regaining her sight, she is hesitant to return to school. When asked if she would go back, she said simply, ‘I won’t go back.’ Asked the reason for the decision, she said she was afraid.

Suzzy expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for his unwavering support throughout her medical journey. Her brother also urged Ghanaians to keep Mr. Mahama in their prayers, describing him as a blessing to their family.
He said: “May God bless him for what he has done for my sister. I know the whole world has seen it. He is a wonderful person given to us as a blessing. I implore everyone to pray for him so that he continues to do what he does…By God’s grace, we have gotten what we expected.”
