Ghanaian pastor accused of stealing dead friend’s Range Rover & ATM card

A 38-year-old Ghanaian pastor, Wisdom Kwame Adu, alias Agya, is facing cases for stealing a Range Rover, an ATM card, and GH¢27,000 from his deceased friend.
According to police, the pastor accompanied his ailing friend Emmanuel Offei to Kumasi for “prayers.” Unfortunately, Offei tragically died on church grounds on June 5, 2025.

Offei had earlier discharged himself from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on April 30. By May 26, he and Adu were off to Kumasi for spiritual healing. But after Offei’s death, Adu reportedly handed over the deceased’s phone to the family while quietly keeping the unregistered Range Rover and ATM card like divine inheritance.
Between June 8 and 10, GH¢27,000 vanished from Offei’s account via ATMs in Kumasi and Pokuase-Amasaman.
The complainant, Mr. Samuel Awuku Darko, is the elder brother of the deceased, Emmanuel Offei, and upon receiving transaction alerts, reported the matter to the CID Headquarters.

Adu was arrested on June 17, and police recovered GH¢35,356 and £40 from his rented home.
The man of God now faces eleven counts of stealing; however, he pleaded not guilty.
Adu has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢150,000 with two sureties—one of which must be justified with landed property. And he has been ordered to reappear in court on July 14, 2025.
Police say investigations are ongoing while the deceased’s body is being preserved at a private mortuary in Tinkong pending autopsy.
