Vice President Jane Naana returns to Ghana after medical treatment and resumes duties

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom. She is expected to resume her official duties promptly, following a period of rest and recovery.

The Vice President experienced a sudden illness on March 28, 2025, and was initially treated at the University of Ghana Medical Centre. Subsequently, on medical advice, she sought further treatment abroad. Throughout her recovery, government officials, including President John Mahama and Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, provided updates to assure the public of her improving health.
In a statement issued on March 31, 2025, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and well-wishes from Ghanaians during her illness.
Her return is anticipated to bolster the administration’s ongoing initiatives, including the “reset agenda,” as she resumes her role in national leadership.
