Eid ul-Fitr celebrations: NRSA urges road users to exercise caution and responsibility

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has called on road users to be cautious and responsible during the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr celebrations to prevent road crashes and ensure an incident-free festive period.
The authority extended its congratulations to the Muslim community for their dedication and perseverance throughout the fasting period in a statement issued on Friday, March 28, 2025.

It also highlights the values of spirituality, discipline, and compassion demonstrated during Ramadan, stressing their importance in promoting road safety.
Part of the statement read, “As we approach the joyous occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the Authority joins in the celebrations with prayers for peace, good health, and the desired attitude to deliver safety during the festive time.”
The NRSA cautioned against dangerous driving behaviors such as overloading, speeding, and reckless riding due to the anticipated increased movement and activities on the roads.

It also commended pedestrians to avoid jaywalking and to use designated crossing points, such as zebra crossings and pedestrian footbridges, to prevent accidents.
The NRSA reiterated its commitment to collaborating with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to enhance road safety during and after the festivities.
