Idris Elba Announces Plan to Establish Film Studio in Accra

Renowned actor, Idris Elba known for his roles in Luther and Extraction 2 has formally paid a courtesy call to the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru seeking his blessing to set up a film studio in Accra.
Idris Elba was welcomed and celebrated with a grand ceremony at the Palace of the Ga Mantse in Accra. The beloved actor is known for his significant contribution to the African Diaspora and his relentless dedication to nurturing the talents and gifts in Africa.
Seeing as Idris Elba is proudly Ga, the palace welcomed him with typical Ga music and dance.
He addressed the crowd expressing gratitude for the gathering and went ahead to seek the blessing of King Tackie in setting up the film studio on a 22-acre land earmarked in Osu.

“One of the goals I have tried to achieve is to bring the industry back to Africa,” he delightfully announced. “We have earmarked 22 acres of land beside Osu Castle for a fantastic studio and school that will serve our community in Accra,” he added.
This declaration was met with a round of thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd who were immediately excited about the idea.
In his explanation, Idris Elba hopes to provide opportunities for young people who have aspirations of acting. This would also go a long way to elevate the youth unemployment crisis the country is currently grappling with.
