Government to pay 2 years’ arrears of 321 pharmacists—Ato Forson

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has assured that the government will take immediate steps to settle the salary arrears of over 300 pharmacists who have not been paid since they were employed by the state in June 2023.
Speaking in Parliament during the presentation of the 2025 Budget and Economy policy on March 11, Dr. Ato Forson acknowledged the financial struggles of the affected pharmacists and vowed to resolve the situation.
According to a post by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on X, the finance minister said the matter was brought to his attention during a pre-budget consultation with the youth on social media with KALYJAY on Sunday.
“During my engagement with the youth, it was revealed that 321 pharmacists who were employed since June 2023 have not received their salaries. We will take urgent steps to remedy this situation immediately,” Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson assured.
Dr. Forson reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing concerns within the health sector, acknowledging that many workers continue to experience salary delays and financial difficulties.
