12 Chinese, 1 Ghanaian Arrested Over Missing ECG Containers At Tema Port

12 Chinese and a Ghanaian arrested over ECG containers
Ghana’s National Security has arrested twelve Chinese nationals and one Ghanaian in connection with the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers at the Tema Port.
An intelligence-led operation on Thursday, 27th March 2025 led to the arrest of these individuals. The suspects are linked to two aluminum smelting companies in Shai Hills.

National security discovered cables suspected to be part of the missing consignment were linked to an aluminum facility, opposite the Shai Hills Game Reserve.
Investigations into the incident indicate that the cables were being melted into aluminum bars intended for export.
However, National Security operates are on the look out for another Chinese national who is a person of interest in that matter and is currently on the run.
